Who Am I

Hello, I am Nancy Howard.

I trained my first sheltie in 1982 and after only one set of classes, I entered my first dog obedience trial and achieved my CD in one weekend.  After that, I was hooked!

I began to believe that I could teach people how to train their dogs and became an assistant instructor for a local club I belonged to.  During my time spent as an assistant, I learned a great deal on how dogs learned and I became intrigued by this and just how natural it seemed to me.

I purchased a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and began training her.  Nothing like choosing a difficult breed, but I was out to prove to myself that I could train any breed of dog.  I found that this breed also was fun and easy to train.  We went on to achieve our CDX and she was one of the most wonderful dogs I have ever trained.

I continued training with this club, and after many hours of assisting, reading dog training books and training my own dogs, I became a trainer.  I have attended many workshops, training camps and seminars.  My whole life seemed to evolve around dogs; I couldn't get enough of them!

I worked for the SPCA for years where I learned a great deal about this beloved animal.  I owned and operated my own dog grooming shop and I thought how could I have been so fortunate to work with dogs all day!

I have shown many dogs in the conformation ring to championship level, dabbled in Agility and am totally hooked on Rally Obedience.

After 20 some years of training my own dogs, and helping others, I am passionate about these furry friends.

I have had the privilege during my life to live with a Corgi x, multiple Shelties, Bouvier des Flandres, Australian Shepherd and Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers.
